Visit to the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam

on the 30.12. I visited the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam with my friend K who is staying in Amsterdam for the New Year. It was very full and we had to wait long time before we reached the entrance. Time to take pictures of people.

first we went to the permanent exhibition since we were not yet ready to face another line for the exhibition of Marlene Dumas - amazing to see some of the originals of the "big painters" like Picasso, Malevich, van Gogh and many others - my intention for photos was however people as you can easily see

we also saw some amazing work from Mondrian (in the photo above)

after leaving the temporary exhibition we had to line up again for the exibition of Marlene Dumas

I was happy that I already saw the exihition `image as burden´ by Marlene Dumas already when it was less busy, so I could enjoy the people rather than finding them a burden

I was not the only one photographing ....

after we left the rich exhibition by Marlene Dumas we paid a short visit to the second part of the permanent exhibition

walk in the amsterdamse waterleidingduinen

today I walked with a friend in the amsterdamse waterleidingduinen close to Zandvoort. In this area which has been used to gain Amsterdam's drinking water lives the biggest deer population of The Netherlands. They are not at all shy and browse quietly close to the passers by.

we also passed by a hotel for insects, this place was created to give them shelter for nesting and during the winter

the walking pathes were mostly quite and not many people were around, the landscape offered some variety between light woods and more savanne-like open landscape. For me a s a newbie to this area to deer was the mos striking however, there were also birds singing and surely to be watched and the pathes along the water were just lovely in the autumn sun.

beautiful autumn day in roermond

yesterday was the 1st of november and an incredible beautiful day, sunshine and you could feel the warmth of the sun, blue sky and the day I met my friend B in Roermond, what an abundance and what a gift to spend this day together.

roermond is a nice little town in limburg with an old city center and a munster. Around the cathedral there are many places to enjoy a drink or have some food, and most of them have terraces.

also around the munster and in the city center there was a flee market, with lots of different vintage and kitsch - here some impressions

the city was alife but not too crowded and many people enjoyed the sunshine and the warmth

roermond is an old city, in 1213 it had been destroyed by the german emperor otto IV - in 1218 the abbey was builded and the city reconstructed

next to the vintage market there was also the usual saturday market with a big flowermarket included - very colourful

later we went for a little autumn walk along the river roer

we ended up on the terrace of the marina of roermond where we again enjoyed the encredible sunshine

lovely the reflections of the houses in the water of the river in the warm light of the sun which was already going down

we even saw two black swans on the river

we ended this day which gave me really a holiday feeling at a terrace in the shadow of the munster with a lovely dinner and a cherry beer
